Getting started
I don't have an account — is that right?
Yes. ReefBot has no login. The first launch goes straight to the tank list. Everything you do is stored on your device. The optional Community feed uses an anonymous device-level identifier — no email, no password, no profile.How do I add my first tank?
Tank list → tap Add tank (or the demo seed on first launch). Pick a system type, set your volume, and you're in. You can add a header photo any time.Where's the paywall and what's the trial?
7 days free, then $4.99 / €4.99 / 49 SEK / 49 NOK / 49 DKK per month. Cancel any time during the trial in your Apple ID settings — no charge. Manage subscription in Settings → ReefBot Pro.
Photo diagnosis
How accurate is the diagnosis?
Calibrated, not guaranteed. The AI is told to ask for a better photo when uncertain instead of guessing. Confidence is shown explicitly. Use AI suggestions as one input among many — always verify before dosing.What gets sent to OpenAI?
Just the photo you selected and your last 15 parameter readings. No name, no email, no device ID. We don't keep the photo on our servers. OpenAI doesn't train on API requests by default.How do I revoke AI consent?
Settings → AI features → toggle Allow AI photo diagnosis off. The Diagnose button will then ask again the next time.
Hardware
I declined Local Network / Bluetooth — is that a problem?
No, ReefBot works fully without those permissions. They're only needed if you want to read from / control your Apex, ProfiLux, ReefBeat ecosystem or EcoTech equipment. You can grant them later in iOS Settings → ReefBot.Will ReefBot auto-dose?
No. Every hardware command requires explicit per-action confirmation and respects a daily cap you set. The kill-switch in Settings → Hardware disables all writes if you want pure read-only.My controller isn't found on my network.
Tap Add manually and enter the controller's IP. Bonjour discovery doesn't work across some VLANs; manual entry always does. Check that your phone and the controller are on the same SSID.
Data and export
How do I export my tank data?
Settings → Data → Export. JSON for full fidelity, CSV for spreadsheets. The export includes tanks, parameter readings, photos, maintenance logs, dosing plans, and hardware records.I lost my Community posts after reinstalling.
Anonymous device ID is wiped on uninstall, so we no longer link your old posts to "your" device. The posts still exist publicly, but you can't manage them from a fresh install. Sign in with Apple (post-launch) will solve this.I want everything I posted erased.
Email hello@expi.se from the device that posted. We'll purge everything tied to that device ID.
Subscription
How do I cancel?
iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → ReefBot Pro → Cancel. Apple handles cancellation; we don't charge anything else.I was charged after cancelling the trial.
Apple bills if cancellation happens fewer than 24h before the renewal moment. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple handles all refunds.Can I share Pro across my family?
Family Sharing is on the roadmap. Right now Pro is per Apple Account.
